Under new ownership since last December, the hotel is building on the legacy established by the Mealiff family while remaining firmly rooted in its community. Now part of Calusade Hotels, an Irish chain named by combining parts of owner Matthew O’Callaghan’s children’s names, the Kilmore has received €250,000 in investment, with the total expected to reach €1 million by year-end. The funding will enhance the hotel and guest experience, support staff development and preserve the Kilmore’s distinctive character.
The Kilmore boasts a long-serving team led by general manager Paul Henry, who has worked at the hotel for more than 30 years and knows many guests personally. Reviews and ratings have improved year on year, while wedding feedback is consistently exceptional. The hotel is also trusted for corporate meetings, events and away days.

With renewed community engagement through events such as the Virginia Show, and plans to revive popular traditions including the carvery, the Kilmore is combining fresh investment with the personal service that has always set it apart.
