Wet and windy day ahead

Today will start off wet and windy, especially along coasts, with overnight rain largely confined to the northeast by late morning.

Sunshine and well scattered showers elsewhere will extend to all other areas through the day.

However, some heavy thundery falls will move in from the west during the evening hours.

It will be a breezy day with moderate to fresh, gusty westerly winds. Cool with highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Scattered outbreaks of thundery rain with isolated thunderstorm will occur early tonight, clearing northeastwards overnight.

Drier, clearer but colder weather will follow later. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 7 degrees, all in a light southwest or variable breeze.

Tomorrow will start off dry with sunny spells apart from well scattered showers.

Light to moderate east to northeast winds will gradually strengthen later too. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees.
