Killanny 3-20

Rock Sarsfields 3-10

Killanny’s greater efficiency in attack made the difference as they saw off Rock Sarsfields in an entertaining MFC Division Two Final at Drumhowan on Saturday.

The teams produced a free-flowing encounter in sun-drenched conditions, with Killanny leading almost from start to finish, inspired by 2-8 from Oran Connolly.

The league runners-up finished with seven players on the scoresheet, including 1-1 by Joseph Routledge and three points each from Luke Kelly and Ronan Goodman as they held off a late surge from the Rockcorry/Killeevan combination, who had edged their final-round group-stage meeting last month.

Killanny racked up an impressive haul of 3-20 as they added this title to the U-16 Division Two championship they won back in 2024.

Luke Kelly and Joseph Routledge were on target early on for Killanny and although Na Sáirséalaigh Buíochar responded with a goal from Aidan McFarland, the south-Monaghan side regained the lead when Oran Connolly jinked his way through to fire to the net.
