New series of Doherty’s CRÁ set to TV screens next month

Award-winning Irish-language crime drama, directed by acclaimed Cavan director Philip Doherty returns November 3, with all six episodes available on TG4+.

Produced by Fíbín Media and Fíbín Films NI for TG4 and BBC Gaeilge, the new series reunites audiences with the dark, compelling world of Gaoth Dobhair, following the international success of its first instalment, which sold to 68 territories worldwide under the title Boglands.

Dónall Ó Héalaí returns as Garda Conall Ó Súilleabháin, now a trainee detective facing new cases, divided loyalties and past consequences.

Darkly funny, twist-laden and steeped in the distinctive landscape of Donegal, CRÁ explores the personal and professional lives of law enforcers navigating the razor’s edge between good and evil.

Doherty, whose directing credits also include ‘Redemption of Rogue’, leads a creative team featuring Doherty himself and actor Aoife Nic Ardghail.

The production is supported by Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund and Coimisiún na Meán, with international distribution by About Premium Content (APC).
