Concerns over distress caused by fireworks
The impact of fireworks on children with autism, vulnerable individuals and animals is to be discussed by Cavan County Council next week on foot of a motion by Fine Gael Councillor Niamh Brady.
While fireworks are traditionally associated with Halloween and other celebrations, their noise, unpredictability and sudden explosions can cause considerable distress for people with sensory sensitivities. An Garda Síochána has specifically highlighted the dangers fireworks pose to vulnerable people and animals, as well as the risks associated with illegal fireworks.
The motion will be heard at a meeting of Cavan County Council, Monday, November 9,
