All Masses now suspended in Diocese
All public Masses, except Funeral Masses, are suspended in the Diocese of Kilmore until further notice from tomorrow, Saturday, March 21.
The announcement came this afternoon from the office of the Diocesan Administrator, Monsignor Liam Kelly.
It’s a stepping up of the restrictions already in place at churches across the region, that includes the cancellation of a variety of planned services, including Easter celebrations and Confirmations.
Already there is a ban on all non-essential pastoral gatherings and meetings, such as formation gatherings, retreats and seminars are cancelled.
Similarly, Church weddings and baptisms had been celebrated on condition that the attendance in church does not exceed 100 people, but these too will now have to be put back.
Parishioners are being informed of the possibility to participate in Mass via local radio and online.
