Music Generation gets local launch

 

A groundbreaking educational initiative aimed at enriching the musical landscape in counties Cavan and Monaghan for generation to come was launched locally last week.

Music Generation aims to offering access create access to high-quality, subsidised performance music education to all children and young people.

The programme is running in 25 areas across Ireland, and Cavan and Monaghan became the latest to join the impressive movement when launched Cavan Town Hall Theatre last Thursday (February 27).

Initiated by Music Network and co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships, Music Generation is being facilitated locally by Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB), in partnership with Cavan and Monaghan County Councils.

The launch event celebrated the collaborative work of the local partner agencies in bringing performance music education to the region of Cavan and Monaghan.
