Senior Football We are delighted to welcome John Donnellan to Killygarry GAA for the 2009 season. COACHING SECTION We actively encourage any players or parents currently not involved in coaching juveniles to seriously consider doing so. It is very rewarding and only requires one hour of your time most weeks. A shared load is much easier to carry so we look forward to hearing from you. Coaching Course for Killygarry GAA is on February 6th & 7th and this will give you the Introduction Coaching Course Certificate from Coaching Ireland. The Camógie Annual General Meeting will take place in the GAA Centre, Kilnaleck on 30th January at 8.30pm, all players and members are asked to attend this very important meeting. • Killinkere Ladies Killinkere Ladies are holding a beard shave and waxing night in aid of the Oncology Unit in Cavan General Hospital, on the 31st of January in the Leisure Centre, with the razors and waxing strips being put to full use from 9.30pm. There will also be presentations made to newly wed members of the club. Please support this worthy cause on the night as all money is going to the Oncology Unit. Juvenile Coaching Coaching for the local primary schools takes place each Saturday fro 10.00am at the astroturf pitch at the railway station. Starting with second class at 10.00, it continues at 3/4 hour intervalsfor the succeeding classes. Club Gym There are various classes available at the gym nightly and these are open to non members. The AGM was well attended by its members and on display on the night was the Division 5, minor and U-21 trophies. The meeting reflected on a very busy and successful year in 2008 when great progress was made by the club, with the completion of the training pitch at the New Inn and all fund raisers being a major success. While on the field it was a year of major success for the adults and juvenile teams, with the Minors, U-21"s all winning their respective championships and the junior team winning the Division 5 title, while the senior team consolidated their place in Division 1. During 2008 Lavey also played a major role in the success of Féile, Lavey hosted New York boys team and St. Mary"s girls team from Sligo. Special thanks must go the Féile committee and to the families around the parish who hosted the teams. It truly was another successful year in the history of Lavey GAA. Chairman John Joe Maguire addressed the meeting and thanked everybody for their hard work throughout the 2008. The club is represented in two categories with Colm Smith nominated in the Minor Player of the year and Michael Finnegan nominated in the Handballer of the Year.
