Approval for new classrooms at Mullahoran school

The news was confirmed by the Department yesterday evening.

Approval has been given for two new classrooms at Mullahoran Central National School.

Local TD Brendan Smith has confirmed the Department of Education has given the go ahead for the project. It will consist of a special education needs classroom and a special education teaching room.

The application was submitted by the school, with approval given yesterday.

This latest announcement follows news the school was successful in its application for funding to upgrade its playground and footpaths. That was granted by the Department last month.

Fianna Fáil TD Brendan Smith has welcomed the news.

“Along with my colleague, Councillor Philip Brady, I was glad to support the applications submitted by the School for additional accommodation. There have also been other welcome developments in relation to facilities at this school in recent years.

"I compliment the Principal, Board of Management and Parents’ Association on their submission of successful applications and I wish them continued success in the further enhancement of school facilities which will benefit the local school community."
