N55 closed following serious crash

Gardai are attending to a serious accident that has forced the closure of the N55 near Kilcogy.

Understood to involve several vehicles, ambulances crews have been dispatched to the scheme, with several persons transferred to hospital for further medical examination and treatment.

The N55 is currently closed due to the road traffic collision at Tullygullion, Kilcogy, on the stretch approaching Granard.

A number of diversions in place.

Alternative Routes include the N55 Southbound – via the R154 from its junction with the N55 in Ballinagh via Kilnaleck to the R154 junction with the R194 in the townland of Killyfassy, via the R194 to its junction with the R394 in the townland of Carrickabane, via the R394 to its junction with the R194 in the townland of Bracklagh and via the R194 to its junction with the N55 in Granard.

The same alternative route in reverse applies to traffic travelling on the N55 Northbound from Granard to Ballinagh.
