Stolen car recovered after raid

 

Gardaí investigating the unauthorised taking of a car from the Dublin area on Tuesday have raided a premises outside Castleblayney, Co Monaghan.

The stolen car was recovered, and a male in his sixties has been arrested.

Its has been reported that during the searches a number of stolen car parts, a puppy farm and an illegal poitín distillery were also discovered during the searches.

“During the course of the search Gardaí recovered the stolen car as well as what is believed to be a large amount of stolen property including various car parts,” a spokesperson for An Garda Siochan informed The Anglo-Celt.

 

 

The raid follows a number of burglaries along the border where vehicles have been stolen.

Searches at the site are continuing with the assistance of Revenue Customers Officers, the ISPCA and local authorities.

The man arrested is currently being detained at Castleblayney Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
