Yes vote edging ahead

Seamus Enright Over 150 boxes have already been opened at the Cavan/Monaghan count centre for the Referendum Count with the Yes vote beginning to gain a significant lead. Across the constituency the first tally for 150 out of 274 boxes showed Yes leading 14,927 to a No vote of 11,153. The count is taking place at the Leisure Centre Complex in Cavan town with boxes opened just after 9am. Early indications would suggest that the margin for the 'yes' side is 2:1 in rural areas with results from the urban areas mixed. Turnout is predicted to be around the 50% mark.
