Were fishing illegally on Lough Ramor

Six foreign nationals who appeared before Virginia District Court in connection with illegal fishing on Lough Ramor on various dates were fined a total of €4,000 and ordered to pay €5940 in costs. Dumitru Popa, 82A Castleknock Elms, Castleknock, Dublin 15, was fined 625 and ordered to pay €1150 costs for using a strokehaul for the purpose of taking fish from Lough Ramor on December 8. Darius Gvalda, 23 Woodlands, Ballyjamesduff, was fined €100 and ordered to pay €900 costs for fishing for coarse by means of floats with lines with baited hooks attached, at Cuilcagh Lough, Cuilcagh, on November 9. Evaldas Grigelevicius, 23 Woodlands, Ballyjamesduff, was fined €650 and ordered to pay €850 costs for using a boat in the commission of an offence for coarse fishing using lines and hooks attached, at Cuilcagh Lough, Cuilcagh, on November 9. Ramec Blanka, 62 Block 6, Finglas Road, Dublin 11, was fined €250 and ordered to pay €950 costs for taking a fish which was greater that 25cm from Lough Ramor on November 22. He was also fined €250 for killing six coarse fish which were greater than 25cm, €250 for killing and taking more than four coarse fish from the lake, and €250 for aiding and abetting Antnas Alnka in the commission in one or more offences. Antnas Alnka, 62 Block 6, Finglas Road, Dublin 11, was fined €250 and ordered to pay €950 costs for taking a fish which was greater that 25cm from Lough Ramor on November 22. He was also fined €250 for killing six coarse fish which were greater than 25cm, €250 for killing and taking more than four coarse fish from the lake, and €250 for aiding and abetting Ramec Blanka in the commission in one or more offences. Ruslan Crangaci, No. 9 Huntstown Close, Mulhuddard, Dublin 15, was fined €625 and ordered to pay €1450 costs for aiding and abetting Cristi Popa in the commission of an offence at Lough Ramor between December 10 and 11. Judge Sean MacBride granted the Eastern Regional Fisheries Board forfeiture of all equipment seized by officials.
