Gaelscoil on the move

Students and staff at Gaelscoil Bhreifne, Cavan, hope to be in a brand spanking new premises for the start of the September 2012 school year. The Department of Education gave its 'approval in principle' to relocate the school from its current home at the Scout Den to the premises formerly known as Jacksons Garage Showroom on Farnham Street. The news comes after a 15-year campaign by the school to get a purpose-built school in and around Cavan town. While the principal welcomes the move to Jacksons, Nora Ní Loinsigh is still hopeful that a purpose-built facility will be delivered for the school. Jacksons Garage Showroom is being leased for three years initially. Full story in this week's Anglo-Celt.
