Relief as missing cavan man found safe and well

The Ballinagh man who was reported missing from Galway at the weekend has turned up 'safe and well' in Dublin last night.

John Moyles (23), a student in NUIG and musician, was reported missing by his family from Ballytrust last Sunday after they concerned about a message he had posted on his Facebook page.

In an interview with this week's Anglo-Celt, out today, the man's father made an emotional plea for his son to make contact. Gussy Moyles told his paper: “I wish he would walk in that door right now.”

John went missing from Rahoon, Galway City, at around 7pm on Sunday leaving friends and family 'stunned'.

His father Gussy had been in Galway in his son's home near the university awaiting news of his son.

“We want him to know that he is always, always welcome and I would love if he would just walk in the door right now, we’ll stay here ’til we get him. If he was in any other place, or county, we’d be there, too, ’til we get him,' he told the Celt.

John's Facebook page was inundated with supportive messages from friends and family members pleading with him to make contact.

The family are now relieved and delighted to have their son home 'safe and well'.

Gardaí in Salthill had been handling the missing person's case, which the Garda Press Office confirmed this morning is now closed.

'Investigating Gardaí would like to thank the media and general public for their assistance,' read the garda statement.
