Council publishes list of flood-risk roads


Cavan County Council has published a list of roads liable to flood as Storm Frank approaches the county.
“All national and regional routes are open and passable listed below, however, they may be subject to additional flooding once Storm Frank ‬hits later this evening,” say the council.
“All unnecessary journeys should be avoided, adjust speed to road conditions and expect the unexpected.”

The council listed Monday night’s flooded routes, saying “please avoid if possible”.

Cavan-Belturbet Municipal District:
N3: Killygarry Church & Cavan Crystal Roundabout
N3 outside Texaco filling station enroute to Cavan town
Ballyhaise Road near at Latt.

Bailieborough-Cootehill Municipal Area:
N3 beside Floods Quarry at Aughadrenna near lavey. The road is blocked on one side, left hand side coming from Virginia to Cavan
After Lavey Inn (Dublin side)
Stradone village to Lavey Inn

“Extreme care should be taken in all routes as there is a lot of surface water as Storm Frank approaches,” they said.
