Warning issued of flash floods in Cavan and Monaghan

Flash floods are expected today as Met Éireann has issued a status yellow warning for Cavan and Monaghan, and some school bus services have been impacted by closed roads.
Met Éireann says that the warning will take effect from noon today until 11pm. The weather service explain:
"A band of rain will cross the country during Wednesday afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals of 15–25mm are expected."
The flooding prompted Bus Éireann to advise parents that the following school bus routes will be impacted:
Cavan – service to Cootehill post primary and Dernakesh primary schools from Canningstown Road/Sharpes Corner are not expected to operate. Service to St Bricin’s post primary in Belturbert from the Belturbert-Killeshandra Road may not be able to operate. All other services expected to operate as normal, some with minor diversions.
Monaghan – services to Ballybay, Rockcorry and Latton from the Cootehill Road are not expected to operate. Service to Central national school (Castleblayney Central School), Oram national school and Castleblayney post primary schools from the Keady Road will be disrupted and may not be able to operate.
