Lisa and Daniel crowned Strictly champs

An incredible 1,500 people packed out the Hotel Kilmore on Easter Sunday night to see Lisa Mooney and Daniel O’Reilly crowned the winners of Strictly Come Dancing at the Movies hosted by Mullahoran GFC.

The popular winners claimed the top spot after a dance off with Eimear McGovern and Padraig Sheridan (second); Breege Geoghegan and Tadgh McGahern (third) and Miranda McIntyre and Donal Brady and Ciara Tiernan and Gerard Clerkin who were also placed in the top five once the judges’ votes and audience votes were combined.
In all, 18 couples took to the stage and busted out the moves in the massive fundraiser for the football club after six weeks of rehearsals under the choreography team of Take 2 Productions.
The judging panel of Sheila Reilly, editor of the Longford Leader; Luke Reilly, local drama enthusiast and Eimear O’Reilly, musician, had their work cut out for them with the exceptionally high standard of dancing.
Before the winners were announced, the chairman of the organising committee Cllr Philip Brady thanked all the dancers, sponsors, judges, committee, backstage team, the hotel and the electric audience.
