New chief of ETB announced

It has been announced that that Dr Pádraig Kirk has been assigned by the Department of Education and Skills to the position of Chief Executive of Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board with effect from September 1.

Dr Kirk is currently seconded from Louth and Meath ETB to the position of Director of the Department’s Junior Cycle for Teachers (JCT) Support Service. The Department has requested that Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board facilitate Dr Kirk’s continued secondment in this role up to August 31, 2018.

In the interim period, a Chief Executive will be appointed on an acting basis, in line with normal practice in cases of acting appointments. It is expected that this appointment will be made within the coming weeks.

Mr Kirk replaces Mr Martin O'Brien who takes over in Louth-Meath ETB.
