Garda property recovery day in Cavan

As part of National Property Recovery Day and, in an effort to reunite people with their lost or stolen property, local gardaí will put on display items recovered across the Cavan-Monaghan region.
The event will take place next Thursday, September 22, from 11am-7pm at the Conference Room at Cavan Garda Station.
While most property recovered by An Garda Síochána is immediately returned to its owners, particularly in the recovery of property stolen in the course of theft and burglaries, there are cases where officers are unable to identify the owner and the property remains in Garda custody.
“Members of the public are invited to attend selected Garda stations, in each Garda Division, where photographs of property in Garda custody can be viewed,” explained Sergeant Noel Harraghy, Crime Prevention Officer in the Cavan-Monaghan region.
Sgt Harraghy and officers attached to the Victims Services will be present on the day, and will also be in a position to provide persons with appropriate crime prevention advice as required.
“We will have a catalogue of all items recovered in the Cavan-Monaghan. Our aim is to reunite as many people with lost or stolen property as possible,” Sgt Harraghy added.
