Woman dies in Meath-Cavan border crash

A woman injured in a road crash on the Cavan-Meath border following a two vehicle collision which occurred yesterday (Thursday) afternoon has died.

The woman had been driving with her two sons (2,6) as passengers when their car was involved in a two vehicle crash with a truck on the Nobber to Kingscourt road at around 1pm in the afternoon.

The road was closed for a period and are to carry out a forensic inspection of the site.

The woman died early this morning (Friday) at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda where she was receiving treatment for her injuries

The 26-year-old woman was a native of Co Meath.

One child remains in a serious condition at Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin, in Dublin.
