Works on new school for Holy Family due in coming months

The 'Letter of Intent' for the preferred bidder has been authorised for the building of the new Holy Family School in Cootehill, and works are due to commence in the coming months is welcome.

Confirmation of this development was recived from the Department of Education and Skills, according to Senator Joe O'Reilly.

The Fine Gael politician stated that no further delays in the delivery of this new school building can be accepted, and this project must receive the priority it deserves.
I am pleased with clarification from the Department of Education and Skills that the new school building for Holy Family School in Cootehill is at an advanced stage of the tender process, with the school having recently been authorised to issue the Letter of Intent to the preferred bidder.
This means that as long as no unforeseen circumstances arise, construction works for the development of the new school building for Holy Family School are due to commence in the second quarter of this year.
Students, teachers, the wider school community and the local community in Cootehill need and deserve the new school building for Holy Family School to be delivered as a matter of urgency.
It is my view that we have had to wait too long for this project to become a reality. Finally, with the construction due to commence in the coming months, it would be wholly unacceptable for any further delays to the provision of this new school building for Holy Family School.
I am committed to using my voice in Seanad Éireann to ensure there are no changes to the current timeline for delivery of this vital piece of educational infrastructure for the local community.
