Gardai investigate burglary at shop

 

Gardai are investigating a burglary at a shop in Ballyconnell last week.

The break in at Gala at Rathkeelan on the ourskirts of the town occurred on May 29 last, between the hours of 12.55am and 1.05am.

During the 10-minute smash and grab raid, thieves are understood to have made off with a sum of cash.

Gardaí in the local area are appealing for witnesses, particularly motorists travelling the route between Ballyconnell and Derrylin during the period to contact them, as well as those utilising dash cams.

 

Youth arrested after cars damaged

Meanwhile, a youth has been arrested and the Juvenile Liaison Office engaged after two cars were damaged on a Belturbet estate at the weekend.

The two vehicles were damaged at around 4am on Monday, June 4 last, after which the youth was arrested and taken to Ballyconnell Garda Station.

Finally, gardaí are searching for a vehicle unlawfully taken from the Dublin Road area of Cavan Town on May 28 last. The silver Pugeot was taken between the hours of 5am and 9am and gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them at 049-4368800.

A blue Toyota Avensis, stolen overnight in the Staghall area of Belturbet on Saturday-Sunday, May 26-27, was later discovered abandoned at estate in the Erneside town.
