Body of man discovered at house

 

The body of a dead man has been discovered at a house in Cavan.

Earlier today (Saturday, April 4) Gardai in Cootehill responded to reports that a deceased male, aged in his late 30s, had been found at his home in the Drumanaveil area of Cootehill.

The male was pronounced dead at the scene, and the local Coroner was notified of the discovery.

His body was removed a short time later to Cavan General Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out at a later date.

Garda are not treating the incident as a criminal investigation, The Anglo-Celt can confirm.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana confirmed the incident.

In a statement issued, they said: “Gardaí in Cootehill responded to reports of a male, aged in his late 30s, who was discovered deceased in his home this morning Saturday, 4th March 2020.

“The male was pronounced dead at the scene and the local Coroner was notified. His body has been removed to Cavan General Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.”
