WATCH: Poignant new footage emerges of Cavan win in Wembley in 1966

Previously unseen new footage has emerged of Cavan senior footballers beating Sligo in the final of the Wembley tournament in London in May, 1966.

Cavan won the game by 3-10 to 1-10 and the grainy amateur video – without commentary - shows some of the action, as well as Cavan captain Charlie Gallagher beaming triumphantly as he accepts the O'Gorman Cup (as captured in the photo accompanying this story) from Irish Ambassador to Britain John Molloy.

Cavan's goals were scored by Crosserlough's John Joe O'Reilly and Cavan Gaels man Phil 'Lightning' Murray.
