CUFL Players attend Manchester Utd academy trials

Comments (5) | Print | Email

Three players from the Kennedy cup squad were selected to attend a trial game versus the Dundalk Kennedy Cup squad with a difference.

Instead of putting on the CUFL colours or their own club colours they were to have the privilege to wear the official jersey of top premiership club Man Utd.

The three players were among 18 footballers from the north-east to be kitted out for the English club.

All hoping and dreaming of maybe not in the too distant future lining out full-time for the Red devils.

Johnathan Leddy from Cavan Shamrocks,Caoilaon O'Reilly from Cootehill Harps and Ryan O'Reilly from Ballyjamesduff represented the CUFL at these trials for the Man Utd Academy.

With nerves settling down and the boys beginning to relax the held their own against tough competition around them.

This is the first time any time any CUFL player has lined out for Man Utd Academy.

They all Will be waiting patiently to see if the get a re call again. It is a big opportunity and one that is out there for all soccer players and fans .best of luck boys.
