The late Rev.Fr.Frank McCabe SMA Deepest sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of the late Rev.Fr.Frank McCabe SMA who passed away in Wilton Cork City on Tuesday September 4t. The late Fr.McCabe who was a native of Dernasoo spent most of his Ministry on the Mission fields in Nigeria but was a frequent visitor to his native area where he celebrated Mass on numerous occasions down the years and took the opportunity of informing his former neighbours of his work in that part of Africa. A modest unassuming man, he was an Uncle of Tom McGovern Kilamaghera and Rose McGovern, Cornaroy and a cousin of Mrs. Geraldine Moran, Carrick Road to whom we also extend our sympathy. The Funeral took place in Cork.Ar dheis De go raibh an anam. Just married Congratulations to, Diarmuid McGowan, second eldest son of Tony and Phil McGowan Carrick Road on his Marriage last Saturday to Aveen Robertson,Finglas and Carrick-on-Shannon in St.Patrick?s Church .The Celebrant was Very Rev Fr.Peter Burke PP.The Bridemaids were: Denise Grogan,Mairead McGowan,Martina McGrail,Roisin Foran.Best Man:Martin McGowan.Groomsmen:Brendan Robertson, David Comiskey,John Doyle. Flower Girl: Abbey Blake. Page Boys: Gavin Maguire, Jack Doyle, And Ben Groghan.Music: Sinead Egan. The reception took place in the Lough Allen Ramada hotel.Diarmuid and Aveen are both employed at Bank of America Carrick on Shannon where they met. We wish them every happiness in their married life. Choir seeks new members Practices for the Drumshanbo Adult Choir will resume in St.Patrick?s Church at 9pm on tonight Wednesday September 5. As always we would welcome new members to join us. Women?s group enrolment evening The Women?s Group are holding an Enrolment evening in Aras Phadraig on tomorrow Thursday (13th) at 8pm. Ursula Connolly, Interior Designer will provide information on her forthcoming classes. Other Classes scheduled for the coming season include: Art, Swimming, Cookery, Computers and a Language Course depending on interest. All Classes arranged will depend on sufficient numbers. All Ladies welcome tomorrow evening. Tuition Fees will be collected on the night. ICA news The Monthly meeting of the local Guild ICA will take place on tomorrow (Thursday) at 8.30pm in the Mayflower Community Centre. Details of Classes for the coming year will be arranged. New members always welcome. Alison and Margarets great wall trek Alison Guckian, Drumcoura and Margaret Campbell, High St.are currently preparing to trek the Great Wall of China to raise funds for Concern. They must raise _10k which will go towards a Primary Education Fund in Kenya. The girls hosted a Function last week and are still fundraising for their epic journey.
