CAVAN County Camogie Board Annual Convention was held in The Meadow View on Monday of last week..
There was a good attendance, with some new faces present at the meeting. Also present was Pat Rafferty, Secretary of the Ulster Camogie Council.
The following Co Board officers were elected. Chairperson: Madeleine Argue; Vice-Chairperson: Maura McGurren; Secretary : Marie Collins; Joint Treasurers: Anne McConnell and Majella Smith. Ulster Delegate: Maura McGurren; Assistant PRO: Aileen McNulty; Promotions Officer: Vanessa Smith; Registrar: Anne Donnellan; Insurance Advisory Officer: Kevin Brady; Child Protection Officer: Maggie Watters and Juvenile Chairperson: Michelle Dunne
Once the election was completed the meeting got down to the serious issues and the passing of new motions to improve camogie in the county. Several new motions were passed by unanimous votes.
Other highlights from the meeting were the gratitude and appreciation to Cavan Co Board GAA for the use of their facilities and in particular to Secretary Liam McCabe for his support with regard to the underage development squad and the use of Breffni Park when it was required.
Also a big thank you to the local media for their excellent coverage of our games and their part in highlighting and promotion of Camogie in Cavan County.
Well done
