Meath star Geraghty among the honours

Former Meath All-Ireland winning captain, Graham Geraghty added to his long list of  honours when helping Athboy side Clan na nGael to Leinster club junior football honours with a 0-15 to 1-6 win over Rosemount of Westmeath in last Saturday's final at Pairc Tailteann, Navan.

Rosemount also had a former All-Star in their ranks in full-back John Keane, and looked as if he would figure on the winning side when they dashed into a 1-5 to 0-2 lead in the opening quarter. However the Royal county representatives, who are managed by Padraig Coyle, brother of Meath boss Colm and a former team mate of Geraghty at Seneschalstown, refused to panic and after Martin Loddick got the goal, they clicked into scoring gear.

With Geraghty working hard at midfield and Michael Priest and Gary Woods converting some well-taken points, Clann na nGael recovered quickly enough to be narrowly ahead, 0-9 to 1-5 at the interval.
