Don?t miss the stunning Sharkey exhibition in Sol Art
'Changing Seasons' – a stunning new exhibition of the much sought-after paintings by Kevin Sharkey continues at Sol Art gallery in Cavan.
Following a very successful official opening last Friday, the exhibition will run at the gallery (located above Subway in Cavan town) until January 26th.
Sharkey, from Killybegs Co Donegal, has risen to the top of the Irish art scene in recent years with many sell-out exhibitions and unprecedented critical acclaim, both in Ireland and internationally.
He is now widely considered to be one of Ireland's most successful artists and has galleries in Dublin, London and Ibiza. One of his paintings, titled 'Roisin', raised _26,100 this year for RTE's People in Need Telethon and, according to a critic in the Independent Magazine, "It's as if he paints with his soul, somehow".
The artist himself says: "To see your paintings sell for these kind of prices, it makes you very very happy for all the people who put their faith in your art and work early on. It's lovely to see them being rewarded by having the value of their paintings soar."
Opening hours at Sol Art are: Tuesday to Saturday between 10am and 5.30pm. For further information contact Sol Art Gallery, Churchview Square, Cavan at 049 4365583or email info@solart.ie
