U-18s progress to next round of the All-Ireland Cup
The U-16 Bailieboro' Celtic A.F.C squad recorded a tremendous Cup win at the weekend when they advanced to the 4th round of the All-Ireland cup by virtue of a penalty shoot out against Torro Utd. Played in wet and windy conditions it was stalemate at half time with Gary Kiernan playing a starring defensive role. But 5 minutes into the restart Torro drew first blood with a simple tap in. This stirred Celtic into life and they soon drew level when Adam Traynor and James Fulton combined to set up David Carolan who made no mistake. Torro applied pressure to the end but couldn't find a way past Niall Kelly who kept the Cavan side in the cup with some outstanding saves. And so to penalties where despite a Jake Eager miss, penalties from Ciaran O'Reilly, David Carolan, Jude Collins and Adam Traynor meant that Niall Kelly's save saw Bailieboro through to the next round where they meet Dundalk side Rock Celtic next Sunday.
