Monaghan hope to continue good run in league

Monaghan United Limerick 37 Monaghan United would hope to continue with their good run when they take on Limerick 37 at Kingspan Century Park on Friday night. United"s present good run commenced against Limerick at Jackman Park in May. In their last two outings United have played some fine attacking football from which they just took one point when in reality they were well worth all six points. For a team to gain all points from such outings they require both luck and belief and both elements especiall! y the former were missing. In the first of these outings against Sporting Fingal they owned the ball for most of the first half but were hit with two sucker goals on either side of half time. In the last game at Kingspan Century Park against Waterford it was somewhat similar possession. Had United won this game by three goals they would not have been flattered, instead of having to share the points. However we have to draw a lot of positives from those encounters, in both games some great chances were created and it has to be only a matter of time until they start scoring and with one of the best defence structures in this Division the points should follow. Limerick on 24 points are just four up on us. In the past two weeks they have signed a incredible total of 16 players, they must believe that they can bridge the gap between themselves and the leaders before the end of the season and their 2-0 win away to Shelbourne at the weekend would strengthen their belief. So it should be a confident side that will be arriving to Kingspan Century Park on Friday evening. Last game On our last outing away against Limerick we shared the points on 2-2 score-line , in that game we went ahead but in the end had to come from behind to gain a hard earned away point. It has all the ingredients for a very exciting encounter and on present form we are capable of getting all three points.
