Man remanded in custody

A Bailieboro man who appeared before the local District Court on larceny, assault and criminal charges was remanded in custody to Castlerea Prision to appear at Cavan District Court in February. Thomas Fitzsimons, 55 Woodview Estate, was charged that on November 7 at 19 Bexcourt View, Bailieboro, he stole 35 pairs of working boots, two boxes of building gloves and two boxes of hats. He was also charged with handling one box of working boots at 26 Bexcourt View on November 10. The defendant was further charged that on March 16 at the American Bar, Main Street, Virginia, he assaulted Eugene O"Dwyer, and he damaged two panes of frosted glass valued €1,516 the property of Eugene O"Dwyer.
