Cavan retailer to feature in The Apprentice
Cavan-based SPAR retailer, Philip Kiernan, will feature on next Monday night’s episode of The Apprentice. Philip is set to be part of a panel of SPAR retailers brought together to judge a task to source a new Irish product, produced by a local supplier, to go on sale in 460 SPAR stores across the country. The episode featuring Philip will air on TV3 at 9pm on Monday, November 15. Speaking on TV3’s Ireland AM yesterday morning, one of Bill Cullen’s advisers, Brian Purcell, said it will be one of the toughest challenges yet on the programme and promised it will make very interesting viewing. This year’s SPAR Apprentice task follows on from the hugely successful ‘Luv Bear’ campaign from last year’s series. The winning apprentices developed the Luv Bear, which subsequently went on sale in stores around Ireland, with all monies raised going to the SPAR Charity of the Year, the 3ts - turning the tide of suicide. The Luv Bear initiative contributed to raising almost €400,000 for the 3ts and helped towards the establishment of a new 24-hour suicide prevention line, “1 life” 1800-247-100. Tune into TV3 on November 15 to find out what’s in store under the tree at SPAR for this year’s apprentices!
