Arts and Ents in brief
The Moth returns The Moth is back, after the successful launch of the winter issue in London – and their evening of poetry and wine, which was due to take place in December last, but had to be cancelled due to the weather, is now set for 27 January. Blakes Fine Wines, along with one of Spain's oldest and most distinguished wineries, Castilla Perelada, will be providing the wine, and Delish the canapés. Three poets – Kate Dempsey from Dublin, Tommy Murray from Meath, and our very own Seamus O'Rourke from Carrigallen, all of whom feature in the new issue of the magazine – alongside Anne Enright, Tom MacIntyre, Vona Groarke, Matthew Sweeney, and many many more – will regale the crowd with their poetry. The evening kicks off at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday 27 January. Tickets cost €10, and are limited, so please call 049-4366020 or email editor@themothmagazine.com to book in advance. That's the question at the heart of this stirring award-winning documentary about Shell versus Rossport, Ireland, where the oil company decided to run a gas line, and the community decided otherwise. The film explores external and internal tensions, and differences, and presents a beautifully-composed and politically-astute eye on a very topical issue. Isla be there!
