Erne Motorworks celebrating 40 years in Cavan

Erne Motor Works at Dublin Road, Cavan, the leading Toyota dealer in the region are proud to announce that they are celebrating their 40th anniversary. "We are proud that Toyota range have been the best selling cars in Cavan for 14 years in a row," says Hugh Fitzpatrick. Back in 1971, Hugh and Mary Fitzpatrick opened Erne Motor Works in Belturbet, and it was a modest start with one mechanic servicing cars. With the arrival of Toyota to Ireland in 1973, Hugh acquired the lucrative franchise. Toyota arrived with one model, the present best selling car in the world, the famous Toyota Corolla. Toyoto became an immediate success and increased their model range over the following years. Their proven reliability, economy and fantastic resale values ensured that Toyota became a success story. With massive sales and hugely increased customer numbers, there was a requirement to expand the operation. Erne Motor Works moved to a new premises at Dublin Road, Cavan in 1985, while still retaining the Belturbet premises. The success of the Toyota product continued at a phenomenal rate through the 1980s and the 1990s and became the number one selling car in Ireland and Cavan. Thanks to the best built cars in the world and their loyal customers and committed staff, they have held the number one position in Cavan for all of 14 years in a row. They extended their premises again in 2004 to the state of the art dealership it is today. All the people at Erne Motor Works take tremendous pride in their customer loyalty, as displayed by repeat business over the decades. Many of their customers and their children and grand children are supporting them for all of their 40 years in the motor trade. Manager Pete Reilly who joined the company in 1976 attributes their success to the people behind it. They are dedicated to a great product and place strong emphasis on after sales service and customer care. "Hugh and Mary Fitzpatrick are still at the heart of the company with their family members joining in recent years. Dara and Enda are part of the sales team and Martina is in administration". Pete Reilly speaks of their great association with Toyota Ireland and has no doubt that the Fitzpatrick family and Toyota Ireland will continue to form a successful partnership long into the future. Hugh and Mary Fitzpatrick wish to express their sincere thanks to their long serving and loyal staff, who have contributed to the success over the years. Peter has been the main stay of Erne Motor Works and played a major role in its success over 36 years. Hugh and Mary speak very highly of all their staff members and in particular their loyalty and commitment to the company, Toyota and importantly, all of their customers. They also wish to thank their long serving members of staff, such as Loreto McMenamin who has given 35 years of dedicated service to the administration department, and in the earlier years was the helpful and friendly face at the reception area. The efficient Sean Brogan has expertly managed the parts department for all of 30 years. Then in the service department, John Grey has shared his knowledge and expertise for 26 years. Their popular sales manager Tom Maguire has built a large circle of customers and friends over the last 26 years. Tom is particularly famous for his friendly and jovial manner. All of their other staff members in Erne Motor Works vary in experience from six to 15 years and are an integral part of the Toyota family. Senior sales executive Dara Fitzpatrick, together with his brother Enda, who is a sales representative have both gained great experience in all departments in the company and will no doubt lead Erne Motor Works into the future.
