Quinn supporters to call for change

Supporters of bankrupt billionaire businessman Sean Quinn and his family have circulated contact details for the former Attorney General, senior counsel Paul Gallagher, and members of the former Anglo Irish Bank's legal and senior banking team as they look to take their lobbying efforts to the next level. They hope, that by doing so, Quinn supporters will inundate and pile on the pressure on prosecution counsel and high-ranking IBRC executives. But their targeting doesn't just stop there, with numbers for Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Finance Minister Michael Noonan offices also among them. Concerned Irish Citizens (CIC) and Concerned Irish Businesses (CIB) who are behind organising the rallying for support for the Quinn family claim to have a mandate of more than 90,000 signatures in their favour. Last Sunday's Ballyconnell rally in support of the Quinn's was postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Fermanagh county footballer Brian Og Maguire in an industrial accident at the former Quinn Group's cement facility in Derrylin, Fermanagh last week. Well-wishers are now being asked to "voice their support" by contacting the IBRC's legal and banking personnel ahead of a planned rally in support of the Quinn family leading up to the Supreme Court appeal by jailed family member Sean Quinn Jnr. "Anglo have put this man in jail because he wouldn't agree to their illegal theft of his companies. Anglo has cost this man hundreds of millions and the Irish Taxpayer €30 billion. Delayed justice is denied justice", the groups say. "There is an agenda to make the Quinns and others take the blame, in order to cover-up the blatant illegal activities that the bank was involved in. The bank's new management are trying to re-write history. The recent arrests and criminal charges brought by the DPP asgainst former Anglo executives indicates that these loans were illegal. Yet, Anglo supported by the Government are trying to maintain an untenable position by standing over the very same loans."
