One-Direction fans queue on Main Street Cavan last Friday night

Only 1-Direction to Croke Park gig

The queue began to form from 8pm last Friday night at which stage word got round. By 10am on Saturday, over 200 anxious and excited One Direction fans streamed, and screamed though the doors of Multisound Music and Record Shop on Main Street, Cavan to seal a chance to be among the 150,000 fans set to attend two sold-out Croke Park gigs next year.

“It's nothing like I ever saw before, not in recent years at least”, shop owner Noel Tierney told The Anglo-Celt.

By securing the two sold out Croke Park in 2014, the teen heart-throbs smashed all existing ticket sales records in Ireland.

Demand for the initial concert on May 24 is said to have brought the Ticketmaster website to a halt and a second date, 24-hours later was immediately added.

The 150,000 tickets for both dates were all sold within two hours of Saturday’s sale opening.

“Everyone who queued in Cavan got tickets we're happy to say”, Noel told The Celt. “It was quite surreal, there were screams and excitement like I've never seen before. The absolute glee on their faces, it was something else”.
