Cavan team revealed for Monaghan derby clash

Cavan boss Terry Hyland has kept faith with the 15 players who took to the field for their quarter-final win over Fermanagh just over a week ago.

They take on Monaghan in this Saturday's Ulster SFC semi-final at St. Tiernach's Park, Clones (throw-in 7pm).

Much of the Breffnimen's attacking threat will no doubt rest on the shoulders of full-forward Martin Dunne, whose potency in front of goal and from distance saw him score 0-5 against the Ernesiders.

Meanwhile, experienced Currin midfielder, Dick Clerkin, who broke a bone in his hand when playing for his local club is included in the Monaghan team, though a last-minute fitness test will decide what part he has to play.

Cavan Manager Hyland believes his men have nothing to fear, and that by giving “desire, work-rate, heart and bravery” they too can seal a place in the Ulster Final, booking a date against All-Ireland Champions Donegal.

He spoke of the feeling in Cavan camp to the The Anglo-Celt this week: “They are upbeat, they are playing in an Ulster Semi-final so they are bound to be (up for the challenge). Motivation won't be a problem at the minute.
