Cavan celebrate at the final whistle.

Magnificent Cavan ladies return to Croke Park

Cavan 4-12
Down 0-11

Cavan booked their spot in the All Ireland Intermediate Championship final on September 29 with a splendid team performance that blitzed Down in Kingpsan Breffni Park on Saturday afternoon last.

Cavan led by 2-6 to 0-3 at half-time after a fisted goal from Bronagh Sheridan and a great goal from Lacken's Roisín O'Keeffe.

Cavan's third goal of the match arrived in the 33rd minute, with Aisling Doonan playing a free down the right hand touchline into space, where Gráinne Smith received possession. The corner-forward cut in from the right wing, before planting her shot low and hard to the bottom corner of the Down net.

Another goal from Sheridan completed the rout as Cavan advanced to the decider against either Fermanagh or Tipperary.
