53 jobs for Swift Fine Foods a welcome boost - Humphreys

The announcement that 53 new jobs are to be created at Swift Fine Foods in Lough Egish Food Park has been welcomed by a local TD.

Speaking following the announcement on Monday, Deputy Heather Humphreys (FG) said:

“I am delighted with the announcement today by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD that 53 new jobs are to be created at Swift Fine Foods over the next three years.

“I am well aware of the quality meals created by Swift Fine Foods having visited the plant in Lough Egish and viewed first hand their excellent facilities and the high quality of their produce.

“The meals produced under the Chef Cuisine brand are quality ready made chilled and frozen carvery meals which are made using locally sourced ingredients, including meat from the Bord Bia quality assurance scheme.

“These jobs are being created as a result of a €3.1million expansion programme supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland. It will enable Swift Fine Foods to invest in a major new product development drive and expand operational capacity.

“I want to congratulate Ted O’Neill, Chairman of the Board of Swift Fine Foods, Robert McElwaine, Managing Director and everybody involved with the company. Indeed the fact that the Chef Cuisine range is now the fasting growing indigenous brand in the convenience meal sector is testament to their efforts. This is good news for Co Monaghan and it is a further example an indigenous business providing employment in our county,” said Deputy Humphreys.
