Le Chéile Conference roadshow to take place

The Cavan Community Forum Peace III Community Roadshow the “Le Chéile Conference” will be held in the Cavan Crystal Hotel on Thursday October 17.

Its an opportunity for community leaders and other to come together, discuss the issues affecting us all and effect some real changes in our communities. The World Café Workshops will feature a workshop table on each of the main topics to arise from the 12 Roadshows Cavan Community Forum hosted among communities around Cavan in the last year. These will include facilitated discussions on Youth, Funding, Rural Crime, Tourism Initiatives, Unemployment, Mental Health, Age Friendliness and more. The positive solutions to improving our communities will be shared to help enhance County Cavan as a place to live.

Cavan Community Forum is a Network Body comprising of over 500 registered Community Groups, from all three Electoral Areas of County Cavan. From these groups a steering committee is elected and representatives go on to various boards on Cavan County Council, funding bodies and other strategic policy groups such as Leader,Breffni Integrated, Roads and Infrastructure Committee and Council Housing.

With the support of Cavan Peace Partnership this series of Roadshows began in in October 2012 in Blacklion, moving on through the county via shows in Kilnaleck, Kingscourt, Ballinagh, Killeshandra, Virginia, Cootehill, Redhills, Cavan, Baileborough, Ballyjamesduff and ended in Belturbet in July 2013. They were run to help develop community spirit in a time when community cuts see a need for the rejuvenation of the naturally strong spirit in our local areas.
