Creightons new party eyes up cavan

Lucinda Creighton, the former Minister for European Affairs, was in County Cavan today drumming up support for her as-yet unnamed party.

The barrister and ex-Fine Gael doyen says that she has seen contact from interested parties for the general election in the county already in 'the dozens' and is 'inviting ordinary citizens the length and breadth of this country to get invovled'.

'We want to 're-boot Ireland' and we want those who are as passionate about this country as we are to join us on this mission,' she said.

The Anglo-Celt caught up with Ms Creighton, who was on tour for her campaign, in The Breffni Arms Hotel in Arva. Read the interview in this week's paper, where she highlights the top issues facing the county, why the county is breakable for new parties and who are and are not the possible local candidates.
