Cavan songstress Lorraine O’Reilly got the surprise of her life on Friday night while performing a track by her favourite artist, Emile Sande, who then found the lady herself 'next to me'.

Lorraine, who hails from Ballyconnell and has been living in Windsor, Berkshire, for the last five years, while she pursues her music career was performing at the Old Windsor Working Mens Club as part of a Ring of Beara and Ring of Kerry Charity Fundraising Event.

Lorraine had been performing for about an hour when she decided to perform the song 'Read All About It' by her favourite artist Emile Sande.

'About a minute into the song, this lady approaches the stage and has a word with one of my band members, next thing I know, Emile Sande arrives up on stage and starts singing along with me. You can imagine my surprise.

'It was like an X-Factor moment when you sing with someone you so admire. I didn’t expect that and it was so off the cuff I never ever imagined that would happen. It turns out she had been there for an hour of my gig before she joined me. I was thrilled,' she said.

Emile could not help be impressed by the amazing vocal talents of Lorraine who has received a lot of positive feedback from the gig including one comment on her facebook page which states: 'It’s nice to see a talented respected artist taking time with and sharing a stage with a new talent I just hope Sande appreciates the help!'

It’s now onwards and upwards for the Cavan girl after singing with the award winning Sande. Lorraine who has previously worked with the BBC, recording artists in Nashville and the rock band Republica hopes to make the most out of her experience with Sande and will continue to put all her efforts into her career home and abroad.
