Eclectic aine looks for electric votes

Local musician Aine Cahill is in with a chance of playing at Ireland’s biggest music festival, Electric Picnic, after being long-listed as part of RTÉ 2fm’s 'Play the Picnic with Oxfam’ competition for her track 'Black Dahlia’.
The singer songwriter from Coratober in Cavan Town was chosen along with 29 other artists and bands from hundreds of entries nationwide. She is now asking for supporting votes for her between now and Friday, July 24, in a bid to make the shortlist of 10 in the final stage of the competition.
If shortlisted, Cahill will win a coveted live set on Oxfam Ireland’s Oxjam tent at the Picnic on Stradbally Estate, Co Laois, (September 4-6).
If successful, the track will also be played on RTÉ from Thursday, July 30, to Wednesday August 12 in a public text-vote competition.
The overall winner will go on to play The Cosby Stage, gaining even more exposure and wins two masterclasses with some of the best in the industry.
