Humphreys wants young entrepreneur entries

The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys TD, is encouraging young entrepreneurs from Cavan and Monaghan to enter the competition to find Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur 2015. The closing date for applications is Friday, August 21.
“The Best Young Entrepreneur is a great initiative delivered under the Action Plan for Jobs, designed to recognise the huge amount of young business talent in this country,” said the minister.

Prize money
“It is open to all people aged between 18 and 30 with a start-up or a business idea.
“The prize money involved is significant, and would make a huge difference to those trying to make a success of their new business. The Local Enterprise Offices in Cavan and Monaghan will have an investment prize fund of €50K to be split between three winners - €20K for the 'Best Established Business’, €20K for the 'Best Start-Up’ and €10K on offer to the 'Best New Idea’,” she said.
Last year, Mark O’Reilly from Complete Receipt in Cavan and Steven Murphy from Old Carrick Mill in Monaghan made it to the national finals.
“It will be great to see young entrepreneurs from Cavan and Monaghan performing again this year. Two-thirds of all new jobs are created by start-ups, and Fine Gael wants to double that number in the next five years,” she said.
