Man arrested over alleged assault in viral video

A man has been arrested after a video was posted on social media purporting to show an alleged assault in a domestic setting. The graphic video, which went viral yesterday, appeared to show a man repeatedly punching a distressed woman lying on the floor whilst another woman tried to intervene.

Cavan gardaí have told The Anglo-Celt that they are aware of the video, investigations are ongoing and that a man has been arrested.
