Thrilling line up for Cavan International Horse Show

Cavan Equestrian Centre will host five days of international showjumping starting next Wednesday. The annual International Horse Show runs from Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 November and attract competitors from all over Ireland and abroad.

This is one of Ireland’s premier showjumping events with 34 national competitions and six international competitions begin contested. This year Irish Olympic rider and horse Greg Broderick and MHS Going Global will be competing in the International classes.

The first international event of the weekend is the Welcome Speed Stakes which commences at 4.30pm on Friday and is the first event of the show to be live streamed. The second international competition is the Gain Horse Feeds Jump Off Class on Friday night. Commencing at 7.30pm this event is the final leg of the Gain/Alltech League.

On Saturday the Amateur Autumn Series Final starts at 1.00pm followed by the Jim Derwin Bloodstock Table C Speed at 4.30pm and the Cavan County Council jump off at 7pm. The Kingsland Puissance, sees competitors thrill the spectators as they endeavour to break last years record attempt of 2m20.

Sunday is all about the finals in the national events with the five year old final, sponsored by Euro Stallions & Robertson Equine, and the the Farnham Arms Hotel six and seven year old final. The last competition of the show the International Grand Prix, which starts at 7.30pm.
