ŠKODA Cavan Cycle Challenge

Tuesday, 13th June 2017: Cyclists can choose from three different routes. The novice 50km routes are suitable for those at a beginner level or anybody that cycles at a leisurely pace; the 80km routes are for those of intermediate standard and the 160km routes are for the more experienced cyclists. All routes commence from Brady's ŠKODA, Dublin Road, Cavan from 9am.

Each of the three routes will then take the cyclists from rolling drumlin countryside through scenic lake lands and for the more experienced, the 160km route will take them to the birthplace of the River Shannon on Cuilcagh Mountain, before heading home through the picturesque Marble arch Geoparkalso known as the Cavan Burren. Back in Cavan Town, Brady’s ŠKODA will host an Aprés Cycle party to help cyclists to refuel after the event.

Registration for the ŠKODA Cavan Cycle Challenge will take place at Brady's ŠKODA, Dublin Road, Cavan from 12pm until 7pm on Saturday, 17th June and again from 7am on the morning of Sunday 18th.

Speaking ahead of the ŠKODA Cycle, Dealer Principal at Brady’s ŠKODA, Tomás Brady, said: “We are delighted to be involved in the ŠKODA Cavan Cycle Challenge, and look forward to welcoming lots of cyclists at our dealership the day before the event for sign-on or late registration. The Cycle itself is in aid of the Cavan branch of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. They do fantastic work here in Cavan, where we have the second highest incidents of CF per head of population in the country. It is a very worthy cause, so we hope to raise as much money as possible.”

Lorraine O’Neill of the Cavan branch of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland also commented “We are delighted to partner with Brady’s ŠKODA again this year as the events were very well attended last year and we’re expecting a big crowd on Sunday, 18th June in Cavan Town. All funds raised will go towards the inpatient unit for Cystic Fibrosis Care at Cavan General Hospital.”

The 160km leaves Brady’s ŠKODA at 9am with the remaining 80km and 50km departing at 9:30am and 10am. The participation fee is from €25 for the 50km routes, €30 for the 80km and 160km cycles with all money raised going to the Cavan branch of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. Insurance for the event is compulsory and can be provided upon registration.
