Council flag road closures

 

Road improvement works will see disruption for motorists in a number of locations across the county in the coming weeks.

Cavan County Council have announced that the N55 Ballinagh to Granard road will be closed to public traffic for a three consecutive days and nights between Monday, November 5 to Wednesday, November 14.

The closure, which is to accommodate resurfacing and line marking work, will be in place between the hours of 8pm and 5am. Only local access only will be accommodated.

Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the works. All enquiries regarding the closure should be directed to the Roads Design Office of the local authority at 049 437 8342.

Meanwhile Monaghan County Council have proposed to close the R181 Lough Egish to Shercock road between the R180 at Lough Egish Cross and the R162 at Lough Sillan until Sunday, November 25, 2018.

Motorists are advised to divert via R180 Lough Egish to Carrickmacross and R178 Carrickmacross to Shercock and vice versa.

This closure is necessary in order to facilitate road works by Monaghan County Council.
